Kouryo-Maru Banana Jig
Initially designed with the intention of Yellowtail Jacks, Captain Iwasaki of Kouryo-Maru designed these jigs for speed jigging applications, specifically the Hirado Jerk. This technique is like a one pitch jerk but with much larger sweeps of the rod. Its elongated profile allows this jig to dart amidst these larger sweeps, to allow the action to almost always remain the same regardless of conditions. When in action, these jigs tend to swim at a curved angle opposed to diagonal lines like most. Captain Iwasaki spent over a year developing these jigs, filing down the originals by hand until he got the action just right.
