Ripple Fisher Aquila Spinning Rod
Refined and expanded for the 2019 season, Ripple Fisher's Aquila series has been built to defy the boundaries of casting from boat and shore. The entire range of rods is defined by its optimal synthesis of lifting power, easy lure handling, outstanding castability, and last but not least, the ability to bring the fight to angry fish.
In its latest iterations, the Aquila series has been broken down into four groups: The ST, MST, MLT and EX.
ST: This high performance rod is designed to cover a wide range of targets and usage.
MST: Designed for anglers who face aggressive situations when bigger baits are fed upon.
MLT: Designed for situations when targets are feeding on smaller baits like White fish. The rod gives the angler full control with an efficient lift. In the model number, the X/X number denotes the PE value for each piece of the rod, for instance an Aquila MLT 82-2/4 is 8'2" long, and has a tip section rated PE2 and a butt section rated PE4.
EX: The Aquila EX is Ripple Fisher's 3-piece travel rod. Despite being three pieces, it's designed to give a seamless bend yet powerful when required.
The Aquila ST series includes all of the "standard" models, but don't let the name fool you; the only thing standard about these rods is that they all have the standard features for the casting game fused together at a higher dimension. Specifically, the standard performance measures of casting, lure maneuverability, hooksetting power, and fish fighting have all been taken to the next level. These rods have a sharp feeling and once the rods are loaded with the fish, the bending curve will gradually transfer towards the angler, allowing for a steady fight utilizing the butt power to maintain authority during the fight.
ST78-3
This model's shorter length is designed for easy handling and casting for use on small to medium size boats. The tip section has sufficient stiffness to effectively work heavier lures, yet it still has the feel to cast smaller lures and maneuver them precisely. It is an ideal rod for targeting bonito, yellowtail, and kingfish, which require subtle lure control with light line.
ST80-4
This medium powered rod is your PE4 class casting rod for your local waters. Once loaded, the rod bends smoothly towards the butt section, creating a beautiful arc. Although it has a sharp feeling, the slow-tapered rod is designed to bend towards the butt section to absorb the thrashing run and enable a stable fight against 10kg class Kingfish.
ST81-2
This model was developed to capture selective games such as Spanish mackerel and bonito fishing in the bay. We are particular about casting performance and operability of small lures, and have created a rod that anglers who place importance on developing the game until they hook a fish will definitely want to use it. After hooking a fish, the reliable bat allows for a speedy fight, allowing you to capture short periods at a good tempo. It is a sharp blank typical of the ST series, and the berry has just the right amount of firmness and is highly sensitive and has excellent lure maneuverability, and can be used to attract migratory fish that are threaded, such as jerking minnows.
ST85-6
This ST85-6 has enough sharpness on blanks to deliver a small lure like a bullet. Especially when you have to cast into boil of kingfish or tuna in head wind, you won’t lose accuracy and you can deliver the lure where you want. It has been designed to be worked as like your arms on manipulating and provide you a stability on fighting. (Previous name:85H)
MLT82-2/4
The MLT82-2/4 has a tip section of a PE2 class, enabling anglers to accurately cast and control small ~ super small lures. It is an ideal model to overcome the challenging game where the white-bait are on the target's main menu. With its outstanding casting ability and controllability of the small lures, anglers will be able to reach great distances when casting and won’t spook the fish from the presence of the boat. Although the tip section is light, the PE4 class butt section will enable anglers to maintain the initiative during the fight and lift the fish efficiently. Its versatility will allow anglers to target and land various species from the blue-runners, bonitos, dorados, and tuna. We hope this rod will assist those anglers who have been itching to cast smaller lures, farther, wider and with lighter line to catch your dream fish.
