Yamaga Blanks BlueCurrent TZ/NANO
Blue Current TZ/NANO is the flagship model that incorporates YAMAGA BLANKS' extensive expertise in light game rods. It features a carbon material using Nanoalloy® technology in the blank, as well as lightweight and next-generation Torzite ring guides, which provide an unprecedented level of line clearance. The result is a rod with a lightweight, highly sensitive feel, a sharp and stable casting experience, and a powerful action that is activated as the rod bends.
The lineup includes the "Plug" models (2 variations) designed for the specialized and delicate micro-plugging game targeting species like horse mackerel (aji) and black rockfish (mebaru). There are also "Jighead-Special" models (3 variations) focused on enhancing jighead fishing, the "Flex" model, which takes advantage of longer lengths for flexible and versatile game setups, and the "All-Range" power models (2 variations), which offer refined performance while being an all-around rod capable of tackling virtually any situation.
The Blue Current TZ/NANO is not just a rod for small fish; it is a series designed to expand the potential of ultra-light lines that continue to evolve. With a focus on versatile high-level performance, this series meets the needs of anglers who seek to enjoy fishing in a variety of situations and for different species.
62 TZ/NANO
The 62 TZ/NANO is a model characterized by a sharp, responsive action and a smooth transition in bending, designed specifically for precise lure control. The blank features Toray’s Nanoalloy® technology, making it easier to control the fish during the fight by using the rod’s bend and flex. Additionally, the compact form allows for easy casting, making it highly effective even in challenging locations like rocky shores and breakwaters.
Both jigheads and plugs can be operated comfortably, with enhanced sensitivity that allows you to feel the pressure of the tide during a fall, as well as detect subtle bites and nibbles. This model is finely tuned to provide excellent high-sensitivity performance, making it perfect for the delicate and precise aspects of light game fishing. It is a versatile rod that lets you fully enjoy the essence of light game—controlling the lure, detecting bites, hooking, and landing the fish.
67 TZ/NANO
This model is designed with a focus on sensitivity, hook-setting, and bending, specifically for the delicate tactics used in jighead fishing. It combines a mild, comfortable feel with an exceptional level of sensitivity, offering a new experience that contrasts with its smooth action. Additionally, we have pursued a sharp, stable casting feel with minimal wobble, perfect for jighead fishing.
The blank is crafted with Toray's Nanoalloy® technology carbon material, which provides smooth follow-through and resilience after the hook is set. This allows anglers to enjoy small species like horse mackerel (aji) and black rockfish (mebaru), while still being able to handle larger specimens with a smooth, progressive bend. The synergy between the rod's ability to control the target and its high sensitivity is immediately noticeable, offering a truly responsive experience.
71 TZ/NANO
Among the Blue Current Jighead Special models, this one is set with a medium action and is specifically designed for fishing with jigheads, small plugs, and lightweight rigs. Unlike models that prioritize action, this rod emphasizes sensitivity for retrieval, allowing anglers to detect subtle changes in water flow and small bites or taps. It excels at picking up delicate changes like shifts in current strength or preliminary strikes.
The rod pairs well not only with PE lines but also with nylon and fluorocarbon lines, maintaining excellent sensitivity while facilitating automatic hooksets. After a hook is set, the rod bends smoothly and follows through, making it a true “bend-and-land” experience. This model embodies the essence of YAMAGA BLANKS, allowing anglers to fully enjoy the excitement of light game fishing.
83 TZ/NANO Flex
This long-length model is designed with the concept of long-distance casting with a jighead, while blending the ease of handling and sensitivity of lightweight jigheads. Its delicate feel enables precise manipulation of small, lightweight plugs, making it perfect for targeting distant areas with a variety of lures in a subtle and controlled manner.
The rod also excels in situations where larger fish make sudden runs near the shore. It follows smoothly and flexibly throughout its entire length, allowing the angler to manage the fish’s movements while using the blank's recovery power to bring it in. With its ability to bend and lift, as well as stop the fish, this model provides a significant advantage, especially in challenging fishing environments such as breakwaters or rocky shorelines, where the fight can be particularly tough.
85 TZ/NANO All-Range
This is the ultimate all-rounder rod in the light game category, capable of handling almost anything. With ultra-high sensitivity and power, this rod is designed to target every range—surface, mid-water, and bottom—using light lines. It is the final weapon for targeting everything from small fish to large ones, using ultra-thin PE lines.
The blank is constructed with Toray’s Nanoalloy® technology, delivering natural high sensitivity and incredible lift power. The rod also offers excellent sensitivity during the fight, allowing you to immediately detect the fish's head direction and gain an advantage, even when a large fish unexpectedly strikes.
It is suitable for a variety of species, including rockfish like grouper, black bass, and sea bass (from topwater to bottom), as well as black rockfish (mebaru), horse mackerel (aji), and even squid fishing (eging). How you use it is up to you. This model, designed by YAMAGA BLANKS, holds endless potential depending on the angler’s skill, making it a comprehensive all-range rod for conquering any fishing challenge.
93 TZ/NANO All-Range
This long-length all-range rod offers limitless potential, depending on the angler's skill. It is an upgraded version of the 85 TZ/NANO All-Range, designed for long-distance fishing and enhanced power. Building on its already exceptional versatility, it features improved sensitivity at long ranges, excellent operability, and a tip that is not too stiff, paired with a high-power butt section that generates the strength needed for long-distance casts. The rod achieves a perfect balance between these elements.
Whether you're targeting horse mackerel (aji), black rockfish (mebaru), or species like black bass (kurodai), sea bass, or even squid (eging), this rod expands your ability to cover more fishing scenarios. With the right skill and ideas, it will help you tackle even more diverse and challenging fishing opportunities.

About Yamaga Blanks-
Rod building is a craft that Yamaga Blanks, a sister company with Ripple Fisher, has been perfecting since 2008 in their factory in Kumamoto, Japan. The craftsmen that work on these rods are seasoned and often have discussions with the designers to create a better product. Rods are repeatedly tested to make them tougher, lighter, and easier to fish.
