yamaga-logo.png

New for 2024, the Galahad “Global” Slow Jigging Rod series is a dedicated collection of rods designed for slow jigging, suitable for targeting various species across oceans worldwide. The power class of each rod is determined by the ideal jig weight for each model. The different models can be used with jigs ranging from as light as 80g up to 500g. The updated blank design has been perfected to allow for easy pumping in addition to the rod’s natural slow pitch action, providing anglers with a versatile rod that can be used for both slow pitch and speed jigging techniques.

Yamaga's "Global" series rods are exclusively made for the international market and are not available in Japan.

Model Descriptions:

621: A subtle model designed for light tackle fishing with sensitive lines. The flexible tip suppresses the initial speed of the jig, automatically creating a natural fall action. This model is ideal for targeting fish with low activity or for situations requiring a sensitive approach, such as when dealing with nibbling fish or situations where fish often shake the hook.

622: A versatile model for comfortably manipulating jigs at a wide range of depths. Its delicate and highly sensitive feel allows the jig to glide naturally and fall with minimal force. These features allow anglers to enjoy every aspect of fishing, from jigging to hook-up. This model is suitable for a variety of species, including sea bream, blue runner, and rockfish, in both shallow and deep waters.

623: A PE2 class model designed to comfortably handle jigs weighing 200-300g. The Galahad Slow series’ key feature is its all-around performance, offering significant action flexibility to manipulate jigs for a variety of target species. It supports a wide range of techniques, from quick actions for blue runner to natural fall actions for sea bream and rockfish.

584: Designed to handle 300-500g jigs under special conditions, such as deep water, heavy currents, or complex double tides. The blank offers strong tension and torque, even under high water pressure, allowing anglers to transfer action to the jig with minimal physical strain. This effortless energy transfer makes it possible to execute both quick actions, targeting high-speed species like amberjack, and fall actions. This model is also recommended for targeting large rockfish in deep water.

About Yamaga Blanks-

Rod building is a craft that Yamaga Blanks, a sister company with Ripple Fisher, has been perfecting since 2008 in their factory in Kumamoto, Japan. The craftsmen that work on these rods are seasoned and often have discussions with the designers to create a better product. Rods are repeatedly tested to make them tougher, lighter, and easier to fish.
